Kolkata, April 13, 2025: Celebrated writer, social worker, and human rights advocate Dr. Kamal H. Muhamed, fondly known as "Moti," was honored with the prestigious 5th Edition Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award 2025 in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the fields of literature and social work. The award ceremony took place at the iconic Vivekananda Yuba Bharathi Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) in Kolkata.
Organized by the Dakshin Kalikata Krira O Sanskriti Parishad, in association with the Ajaya Kumar Das Seva Foundation, the award ceremony marked the organization's 51st year of service to society. The prestigious accolade was presented to Dr. Kamal by the legendary theatre personality Shri Satinath Mukhopadhyay, in the esteemed presence of various dignitaries, artists, scholars, and distinguished guests from across India.Dr.Kamal is the only one who was recognised from state of Kerala for this award.

Dr. Kamal's journey into humanitarian service and social advocacy began under extraordinary circumstances. In 1995, while working in Sharjah, UAE, he was falsely implicated by his employer in a fabricated legal case after raising his voice over unpaid wages in the labor court. Despite the trauma and adversity, including four years of wrongful remand without evidence, Dr. Kamal emerged with renewed strength and an unwavering commitment to justice and human rights. His experience transformed him into a voice for the voiceless, championing causes of justice, equality, and dignity for all.
Literary Excellence and International Recognition
In addition to his social work, Dr. Kamal is also an accomplished author, earning widespread acclaim for his compelling autobiography “Daring Prince: Truth Revealed” (English), which won the esteemed G.K. Pillai Award in 2024. The Malayalam version, “Dheeranaya Rajakumaran,” released in 2025, was subsequently honored as the Best Autobiography of the year. These powerful memoirs narrate the harrowing yet inspiring tale of his life — a narrative that has resonated with readers worldwide.

Beyond the literary realm, Dr. Kamal has maintained a strong and consistent presence in the fields of human rights, anti-corruption, and media advocacy. He currently serves as the Honorary Chairman of both AICHLS (All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice) and NCNB (National Council of News & Broadcasting), both of which are signatories to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). His efforts aim to bring ethical governance, media transparency, and equitable treatment to the forefront of public discourse.

Dr. Kamal’s contributions during this operation, along with his unwavering support for displaced individuals and families, drew praise from both national and international observers.
